Quilled Thank You Card

I wanted to share a very bright, sunny card to brighten your "Black Friday"

This card has fringed flowers, reverse roses, and a fun butterfly.

I have been looking over many of my past projects and wanted to go back to my "12 Days of Christmas"... So this year, as we enter the Christmas season, I am planning on sharing many quilling related items, lots of ornaments and instructions for the reverse roses and this fun butterfly as part of the

2014 12 Days of Christmas....

We have a snowy Thanksgiving this year, very unexpected.. looks so pretty, but definitely made traveling a bit of a challenge yesterday. We will be traveling today to visit with family.

As I was preparing the quote for this week, I thought about the expression "you cannot choose your family" but as this quote points out, we can choose our friends.  There are so many things we have no control over in our lives, let this be one area where we take charge and surround ourselves with only those people who elevate us and make us better.

Blue Snowman Throwback Thursday

Throwback Thursday Blue Snowman Birthday Card

I am so very sad, this is the last Throwback Thursday of 2014. If you are thinking of joining in on the fun, please hurry, I am a little late with my post (just pretend you didn't notice I should have posted this last Thursday or you may think I am early, lol). Are there some cards you come back to over and over again? This is one of those for me because I absolutely love the way this snowman turned out.  The snowman was one of those pleasant surprises, I was given short notice of the birthday celebration and my son asked for a snowman on his cousin's birthday card.  So, what's a person to do?  At the time I was experimenting with a style of quilling made popular by Yulia Brodskaya and this little guy appeared from my strips of paper.  Have you ever had something emerge out of what you were creating that was unexpected? I'd love to hear your story.

Veterans Day Thank You and Freebies

Remembering all those who served!

Today is Veterans Day for all my American friends. I salute everyone who has or is currently serving in the military, with a special shout out to my dad and my sister!  It is generally recognized that there should be a brief cessation of work at 11:00 am on Veteran's Day to remember, I hope you find some time today to thank a veteran for all they have given.

You know how I love my quilling, so here is a quilled heart in the red, white, and blue....

Lots of items today I have a fun printable for you.  The picture is one that I took of our flag that hangs outside our home.  As you can see, I took the picture at night.  I did some playing with the picture, I am no expert by any means, but I wanted the night sky to be darker.  Then I took the photograph and added the words to the "Pledge of Allegiance" the original version :-)

Since Thanksgiving is around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share this dancing turkey... Do you love what it says? "Gobble til you Wobble!" 

The free printable has a 5x7 and 4x6 version with several combinations of fonts, I hope you find one that strikes a cord with you!
