Happy Valentines Free Silhouette Cameo Cut File

antonella valentine love silhouette cameo
I Love You  Card
Happy Valentines Day!!! I know, it is a little early, but I wanted to share this card I made with everyone today.  I used so many of my fun toys with this project.  I chose a white card base and ran it through my cuttlebug to emboss it.  Then I attached my "I Love You" frame with heart pendants (check it out below, I made this myself).  I mounted it with pop dots to give it depth.  I knew that I wanted to soften this a bit more by adding some ribbon, so I ran over to my fibers and since I was thinking of "love" I grabbed my pink ribbon and tied it to the card - phew, the color matched the pink I used on my cut file.

Yeah! I have played around with my Silhouette Cameo and I have this free cut file for you (this is why I had to post so early)! I knew that I wanted to make something for Valentines and I am drawn to all the frame cut files I see so I think I will make many more of these :-) You cannot tell from the picture, but the first heart has a flower in the corner.  Please know that I do not have the designer software, so this was created with the software that ships with your Silhouette and I have used the basic shapes and fonts to create this gift for you.

See below for your free Silhouette Cameo studio cut file.  For the card I made I used only the frame cut file and then created a complete card because I thought some of you may prefer that (Note: I haven't tried to cut that one yet, so I hope this is ok).

Valentine's Day Printables

Valentine's Day!!!

V-day is fast approaching, do you have any plans? Are you planning something for this weekend or next or are you lucky enough to get out on Valentine's Day itself?

Funny as it sounds, last year we ended up doing something on President's Day... President's day you may ask... funny enough, we had so much snow last year that the kids had to go to school that day because they had already used up more than the snow days allotted them by February...
so we figured it was fate intervening and did lunch and a movie...

This year, we aren't sure what we are going to do... I know, wait until the last minute much??

Well, for those of you looking for some Valentine's Day printables, here is a fun "I Love You" that was inspired by a stamp that I saw used here
http://diaryofascrapbooker.blogspot.com/2012/02/owh-sketch-84.html

So, I can never do anything just once, so I went through and found a few different fonts that I thought would work (I won't tell you how many or exactly how long this took - it is better that way, denial and all - lol)

These are the fonts I settled on...  Craftopia Love (for the I) and Angel for the other words, Patterns and Dots, Burton's Nightmare, and New Unicode Font (for the I) and Angel for the rest.

What I liked about the stamp was the simple square that the words created, and arranged my "I Love You's" around to make a square of my own.

After I got it to look like I wanted, then I started to go a little wild and started playing, so as you'll see, I've offered you one of my "playing" options for each of the fonts
Ok, you're right, I did go a little overboard, but it was so much fun playing with the effects and seeing what it looks like!!!
Definitely something I have to watch (kinda like chocolate)

Without further ado, here are the freebies...

Wow! Can you believe how many patterns I have posted on this site? I know that I can't.

In an effort to make life easier for all of us, I am going to try to simplify the pattern lists for everyone. I have found many patterns along the way that I did not have a link to, so this exercise has definitely been worthwhile.

Please find a list of patterns related to Love and Weddings and the such. Each of these patterns would be the perfect embellishment for a card, scrapbook page, or framed art. Contact me if you have questions:
  • Flowers of Love - Beautiful S-Scroll heart pattern just in time for Valentine's day or any love filled occasion.
  • Wedding Dress - An elegant quilled wedding dress and bouquet perfect for the bride on her wedding day. This is great to add to your bridal shower or wedding card and is the perfect embellishment for your scrapbook page.
  • Flower Girl Dress - This sweet little dress is so cute. She carries her own special little bouquet for her trip down the aisle. This link will take you to another site where my pattern is posted.
  • Wedding Cake - What wedding would be complete without the cake? Try this yummy one on for size. This is done in a style I called "Embellishment Quilling"

Free Quilling Heart Pattern

This is a very special heart for me. It has been published in the 2008 Accord Quilling-A-Day Calendar.

This pattern is great to use for Valentines Day, Wedding Cards, Anniversaries, any love filled moment or occasion. I have decided to use this pattern as my inspiration piece for the One World, One Heart blogging extravaganza. I say the inspiration, because I will post tomorrow the pattern for the actual giveaway.

I am including this pattern from the calendar here on my blog so that you can easily find it. The bonus is that I will also be sharing some helpful hints that were not included in the calendar.

First, I need to start by saying that there are certain shapes that I absolutely love to use, and the S-scroll shape is definitely one of those shapes. Please click here for the instructions to make the S-scroll shape.

I think you can see by the picture... I think that they make for such a light, elegant look to your quilled design. The only problem I have found with the S-scrolls is because they are so airy, there is not much glue surface area so you have to be careful with these designs. If you can attach your S-scroll to another shape that is always helpful as you now have an additional anchor point in your work.

To make the heart shape do the following (please use the picture for placement):

  • 14 - 3 in (7.62 cm) S-Scrolls – Arrange in heart shape.

  • For a perfect heart shape every time, Draw, cut, or punch out the heart shape and use this shape as your heart pattern.

  • Look closely at the top and bottom of the heart where the 2 sides meet, I found that the nicest look and shape for the heart happen when you connect/glue the S-scrolls such that they are facing eachother and you glue the bottom.

Embellishments for the Heart. I chose to use Heart Coils to add to the "LOVE" theme (the best part is that you can change the shapes and create a completely unique design):

First Heart Embellishment Arrangement:

  • 3- 3 in (7.62 cm) White Heart shaped coils

  • 2 - 1 in (2.54 cm) Green Spirals

  • Note: I have cut the 1/8 inch (.3cm) quilling strip in half, when creating the spirals for a more delicate look. You can also use 1/16 in (.15 cm) wide paper if you have some.

  • I placed the hearts at the top of the heart where it dips in the center.

  • I thought this made it look like the heart was a delicate necklace with the hearts as the pendant.

  • I have to share with you that I don't like the color green I selected. I had new paper that I wanted to use, but I would definitely go with a deeper green than this.
Second Heart Embellishment arrangement:

  • 4- 3 in (7.62 cm) White Heart shaped coils

  • 2 - 1 in (2.54 cm) Green Spirals

  • Note: I have cut the 1/8 inch (.3cm) quilling strip in half, when creating the spirals for a more delicate look. You can also use 1/16 in (.15 cm) wide paper if you have some.

  • These hearts I arranged on the top, right side of the heart for some added interest.

Here is a variation I made and framed to show you how you might modify the original design to create something similar, yet uniquely your own. :-)

Please have fun with this pattern/design. Feel free to share with me what you have created.

Enjoy!

Free Quilling Pattern Lovey Dovey Birdhouse

Today's free quilling pattern is a heart filled birdhouse that I like to call the "Lovey Dovey Birdhouse." I gave this card as part of a housewarming gift.

This is done in a very perky Spring-like design and is done in a style that I like to call "adornment quilling". Adornment quilling on this project refers to the fact that I have added quilling to my paper pieced birdhouse embellishment.

If you are new to quilling, please click to learn the basics of quilling and to learn to make the basic quilled shapes that are assumed you know how to do in creating many of these designs.

I simply cut a 1.5 inch x 2 inch yellow rectangle and added a pretty pink roof. For added design, I added a strip of pink in the center to make this a 2 story birdhouse. I glued these elements in place before I added the quilling.

Starting at the roof-top and working our way down, this is what I've done.

Roof:
  • 3 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) teardrops
  • 1 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) tight coil
  • 2 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) loose coil (like a quotation mark)
Second Floor:
  • 2 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) open hearts
  • 1 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) tight coil
Middle Level:
  • 2 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) S-Scrolls
First Floor:
  • 2 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) open hearts
  • 1 - 3 inch (7.62 cm) tight coil
Add this to your Valentines Day card for a special child or loved one. If you are a scrapbooker, this is a perfect embellishment for your page. The great part about all of this is that it isn't too bulky so it won't make your page too lumpy.

Enjoy!

How to Say I Love You

Today is all about Love. I went to the AltaVista Babel Fish site and looked up how to say "I love you" in various languages. This is a nifty little site that will translate words or phrases from one language to another.

I then selected a neat font called Acadian and created the front of a Valentines card. I experimented a bit and ended with the following cards.

If you are interested in a copy of the "I Love You" template, just let me know.

Free Quilling Pattern - Flowers of Love

This beautiful quilled "Flowers of Love" Valentine heart is the perfect thing to add to your Valentines Day Card to your special someone.

All paper is 1/8 inch (.3 cm) wide unless otherwise noted.

Look for this pattern in the 2008 Accord Quilling-A-Day Calendar.

To make the heart shape do the following (please use the picture for placement):
  • 14 - 3 in (7.62 cm) S-Scrolls – Arrange in heart shape.Tip: Draw, cut, or punch out heart shape and use as a pattern to get the heart shape.

Flowers:
  • 4 - 1 in (2.54 cm) Spirals – I have cut the 1/8 inch (.3cm) quilling strip in half, for a more delicate look.
